Inayan Kadena de Mano
Translation: “Chain of Hand”
KDM teaches skills utilizing empty hand techniques, hand to knives techniques, joint manipulation, Pressure Sensitive Nerve Areas (PSNA), and Sikaran (Filipino kicking arts). KDM also encompasses knee and elbow skills.
Inayan Serrada
Translation:“to Shut or Close”
Serrada is a medium to close range style utilizing an 18” to 26” weapon (stick), depending on the physical stature of an individual. In the Inayan System of Eskrima Serrada is considered to be the most important of the core styles.
Inayan Largo Mano
Translation: “Long Hand”
Largo Mano is a long-range style utilizing a 36” to 40” weapon (stick) that represents the Kampilan. The Kampilan is the longest sword found in the Philippines. The Kampilan was the weapon used to kill Ferdinand Magellan during the Spanish invasion of the Philippines.
Inayan Sinawali
Translation: “Pattern or Weaving”
Sinawali is usually practiced with two weapons (sticks) of equal length usually 26” in length, but can be practiced with two different length weapons as well as empty handed. Sinawali is good for beginning students because it is easy to learn.
Inayan Dequerdas
Translation: “To Cord”
Dequerdas is a medium range style that uses reinforced blocking with the shield hand on the weapon utilizing a weapon (stick) 18” to 21” in length. It is a simple, but effective method of defense and is easily taught to beginning students.
